Lonny Magazine, an online design magazine, is blazing the trail for virtual design publications. It reads just like a paper magazine, however, it has many features that print publications don't. You can bookmark items that you like, click on an advertisement or product in an editorial and jump right to their website for quick shopping, you can do a search to find an item, and you can share via e-mail, facebook, twitter, etc. Their website also contains archives, a blog, and a place to save your favorite finds. The new March/April edition is now available to view. Enjoy! How to Redefine your space: 1. New virtual design magazines allow you to view great design on the web 2. Browse current and past issues to find inspiration for your project 3. Share ideas with your friends and social network 4. It's free :) Add Comment Take a look at this fabulous dress worn by Viola Davis at the 2012 Academy Awards. I am inspired by the rich emerald color and the elegent style. Here are some home decor items that can transend Viola's look into your home :) How to Redefine your space: 1. Be inspired by fashion 2. Take elements from the outfit that you adore, like the color, style, etc. and find those qualities in fabrics and accessories. 3. Love the Green: add one or two pieces to a neutral interior = Success :) Dare to go bold: GREEN 03/04/2012
It’s March and all I can think about is the color green? Maybe it’s because all I see at the stores are shamrocks and leprechauns? Green for a way to go bold for interior rooms. Green can be soft and calming or it can be loud and demand attention. Take a look at the interior spaces at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, designed by the ever so bold interior designer, Kelly Wearstler. She was successful because she chose one main element to be a saturated green hue. In the first picture just the chairs are green, not the walls and the chairs or the art and the chairs. This is why it works. The second photo hi-lights a rich green sofa as a focal point. There is a hint of green in the rug, but that’s it. Lastly, my favorite she covered the restroom is green subway tiles, but no where else can you find green. Usually the rule is repeat any color in a space at least three times. However, you can break this rule when it comes to showcasing one bold hue. If you want to incorporate a bold element in your room it does not have to be green, it can be any color that excites you :) How to Redefine your space: 1. Choose a bold color that excites you! And, 2. Break the rules and apply it to ONE element in the space: a chair, a table, the walls, cabinets, etc. Bethenny Frankel's New Apartment 02/29/2012
I have been a follower of Bethenny since she appeared on the Martha Stewart Apprentice. She has a great sense of style on a tight budget. Bethenny purchased her new apartment in Tribeca, NY last August. Recently the new season of Bethenny Ever After aired, sharing her new pricey pad. I can't wait to see how they spruce it up. I do hope that she stays true to her thrifty stylish ways, eventhough, I know she doesn't have to :) Take a look at the new house...soon to be home! Not sure how to display your photos? Have a blank wall to cover? Look at these picture/art walls. Take inspiration from their composition, not their subject matter :) I saw this post over at Apartment Therapy and had to share it. I have encountered this problem in my own home. I could never understand why the builder put our thermostat in the middle of our wall? I have thought of having it relocated, but after seeing this article I have found my solution :) La Vida Disney 02/21/2012

Brooke Shields home featured in Architectural Digest March 2012 issue is stylish, yet effortless. There is a cozy, comfortable feeling about her home. Much of this feel was created by designer, India Hicks. The two are friends and together made this house into a beautiful space. "The decorating of the house has really just been an extension of our friendship ..... it's been remarkably collaborative and much more a case of helping out friends" - India Hicks, Architectural Digest Architectural Digest Happy Valentine's Day :) I recently discovered this new digital design magazine, Heart Home, created by three british design bloggers. Bloggers Arianna Trapani (Arianna Interiors), Carole King (Dear Designer’s Blog) and Daniel Nelson (Atelier Tally) produce this publication four times a year. Heart Home celebrates all that is unique and good about interior decor and lifestyle. They celebrate independent British Designers and inspire readers to have style in their own homes. Take a look to see for yourself :) Pillow Love 02/09/2012
